DinnerSolved ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect on our website at dinnersolved.ca, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.
This policy is written to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you have any questions about this policy or about your personal information, please contact us using the details at the end.
1. Who we are
DinnerSolved is operated by Dinner Solved Limited, a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (Corporation No. 1780420-2), with its head office in Ontario, Canada. We are building a marketplace for family-sized weeknight dinners. At this stage we are not yet selling products or services; our website exists to share information about the company and to allow interested customers and kitchen partners to join our early-access waitlist.
2. What information we collect
We only collect information you choose to provide through the waitlist forms on our website. Specifically:
- Family waitlist form: your name, email address, postal code, and household size.
- Kitchen partner form: your name, kitchen/business name, email address, phone number (optional), and kitchen type.
We do not collect payment information, government-issued identification, health information, or any other sensitive personal data on this website.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking or advertising cookies on this site. We do not build user profiles, and we do not follow you across other websites.
3. Why we collect it
We use the information you provide on the waitlist forms for one purpose only: to contact you about DinnerSolved's launch, including updates about when our service becomes available in your area and opportunities to participate in early pilots or early access. For kitchen partners, we use the information to follow up about becoming a launch partner.
We will not use your email for unrelated marketing, and we will not contact you about products or services from other companies.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We do use the following service providers to operate our website, and your information may be processed by them as part of normal website operations:
- Formspree — processes and stores form submissions on our behalf. When you submit a waitlist form, Formspree forwards it to us by email. Their privacy practices are available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
- Netlify — hosts our website. Netlify does not store or receive form submission content. Their privacy practices are available at netlify.com/privacy.
- Google Workspace — delivers our business email. When we send or receive messages at @dinnersolved.ca, Google processes those messages.
If we add additional tools in the future (for example, an email newsletter service), we will update this policy to name them before we begin using them with your information.
5. Where your information is stored
Information submitted through our website is processed and stored on servers operated by our service providers, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By submitting a form, you consent to your information being transferred to and stored in those locations. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any service provider handling your information maintains appropriate security practices.
6. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until one of the following happens:
- You ask us to remove you (see Section 8), or
- Three years have passed since your last interaction with us, at which point we will delete inactive records.
If DinnerSolved does not launch or we decide to end the waitlist, we will delete all waitlist information within 90 days and notify you by email before doing so.
7. How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we collect, including:
- Serving our website over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Using reputable service providers (Formspree, Netlify, Google Workspace) with industry-standard security
- Limiting access to waitlist submissions to the DinnerSolved founder and any small number of team members who need access to respond to you
- Using honeypot-based spam protection on forms to prevent automated abuse
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we will notify affected users and applicable authorities if we become aware of a privacy breach involving personal information under our control, as required by PIPEDA.
8. Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Access that information
- Correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw your consent at any time, and have your information deleted, subject to legal or contractual limitations
- Challenge our compliance with this policy
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have not handled your information appropriately, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
9. Children's privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if you are on our waitlist, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect.
